AIRCRAFT OPERATORS OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

Over 12 airlines have received licenses for flight operations and currently perform scheduled as well as non-scheduled flights.

Certificate of operator is a document, which authorizes the company as an aircraft operator.

The holder of certificate of aircraft operator may obtain a license of air carrier, which provides the details of the permitted activities, including: the type of the aircraft, the type of air transport service (passenger, freight, mail, or mixed), and the regions of implementing air transport services.

The holder of certificate of aircraft operator and license of air carrier shall have a license of corresponding air transport operation for realization of aviation activities in the Republic of Armenia.

The following Air Companies have obtained Certificates of Operator from the General Department of Civil Aviation of RA.

  1. “Ararat International airlines” LLC
  2. “Taron-Avia” LLC
  3. “Vertir” LLC
  4. “Air Highnesses” LLC
  5. “V-Berd Avia” LLC
  6. “Ark airways” LLC
  7. “Veteran Avia” LLC
“Armavia” Airlines reflects its image as a National air carrier, realizing regular flights.
Since 2005 “Armavia” is a real member of International Air Transport Association (IATA)

In 2006 the volume of passenger and cargo transportation services of “Armavia” Airlines was about 465 thousand passengers and over 570 passengers in 2007.

In December 2007 the passenger traffic of “Armavia” Airlines was 21 thousand arriving and 30 thousand departing passengers. www.armavia.am
