Since November 18 “Air Arabia” company has started to carry out regular flights on Airbus-320 en route Yerevan- Sharjah –Yerevan twice a week(on Wednesdays and Saturdays).
Recently in Yerevan the maiden flight Sharjah-Yerevan-Sharjah has been officially marked.
Mr. Artyom Movsesyan the Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation at the Republic of Armenia, while congratulating the aviation authorities, noted in his report that the above-mentioned flight will contribute to the economic and political cooperation between two countries and new high-level service will be provided for the passengers.
Soon an agreement on ‘’Civil Aviation Safety” will be signed between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America.
The Safety Agreement will provide the airline operators with an opportunity to carry out regular flights to the United States.
Starting from November 1, 2006 a new- defined safety charge will be in force in ‘’Zvartnots” airport.
Based on ICAO regulations the charge, amounting to 2 euros, .will be collected from every departing, transit and arriving passenger.
Related to the struggle against terrorism, ICAO and other international aviation organizations have suggested applying new technology for passenger and aircraft safety provision.
On the 14th of September the Arrival hall of the new Passenger terminal was put into operation by "Zvartnots" international airport.
Being a well-equipped building and corresponding to the international passenger service criteria it is the unique one in the region.
The construction and the exploitation of the new Passenger terminal is aimed at the provision of high-quality passenger service.
The Passenger terminal of "Zvartnots" international airport has a possibility to serve 2million passengers.
The members of RA Government under the leadership of prime minister A. Margaryan also took part in the inauguration ceremony of the new hall.
