The two day seminar concluded the works of “Twinning” Project done within a year in our country. The seminar aimed at presenting the Armenian aviation representatives the EU legislative system regarding civil aviation security as well as the work model of the enrolled European organizations.

The EU “Twinning” team of the Spanish aviation security agency presented its experience and the cooperation with the Armenian representatives and national authorities of the relevant field during the event.  The highly qualified specialists from Spain exchanged their skills and their knowledge on the procedures and the enrolled organizations during the seminar.  They also presented the experience of overcoming the transitional phase in Spain. The Director General of the General Department of Civil Aviation at the Government of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Artyom Movsesyan, Mr. Traian Hristea -Head of EU Delegation in Armenia, ambassador, Ms. Isabel Maestre Moreno - Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Spain– Project Manager of Spanish State Safety Programme for  Civil Aviation, Eugenia Lorenz Bertrand de Heredia – Councilor in international affairs of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Spain, Ismael Pacheko – Head of Continuous Airworthiness and Technical Maintenance Department of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Spain, Resident  Twinning Advisor Otto Sanchez and other officials of the field.

“Twinning” report for the previous year was presented during the second day of the workshop.

Let us remind you that EU Civil Aviation Security “Twinning” Project started in May, 2011 and it is implemented in RA for preparing Armenia to complete integration into the European aviation security system /EASA/. The project aims at harmonization with the European legislative system and implementing these laws in the field of the aviation security. The project is financed by EU in the amount of 1.1 million Euros. The “Twinning” team has already organized 12 practical and theoretical workshop- meetings for the GDCA and people working in the Armenian aviation field.
